New Real Madrid signing Arda Guler is yet to appear for the club, but he is already impressing fellow teammates and staff at the club with his extraordinary ability and mentality.
The 18-year-old joined from Fenerbahce having been targeted by a number of top European clubs, and looks set to be part of the Real Madrid first-team squad this season, despite his young age.
Midfield legend Toni Kroos is someone Guler should try and emulate, given that he has established himself as one of the finest in the history of Real Madrid, and the German veteran has heaped praise on the teenager.
Speaking on his podcast Einfach Mal Luppen, Kroos picked out Guler’s best attributes and highlighted how impressed he was with the Turkey international.
“You really have to say that he is a great talent for his age. He has a very, very fine left foot. You will see that often,” he stated.
“He has a great left-footed shot and is technically exceptionally good, especially in tight spaces. I think that’s a very good and smart transfer, especially for the future, of course.”
What will Guler bring to Real Madrid?
The teenager is an attacking midfielder who can also play on the wings, and he has previously been compared to his idol, former Real Madrid hero Mesut Ozil.
His outstanding technique is clearly already apparent to his teammates, and he could inject a lot of creativity into the Real Madrid side.
It seems unlikely that he will enter the starting XI immediately, given the competition from the likes of Kroos, Jude Bellingham and Luka Modric, but it seems that Carlo Ancelotti will give him a chance this season rather than loaning him out or sending him to the reserve sides.
Whilst it is early days, there is plenty to be excited about when it comes to Guler, and it will not be long before he appears in the famous white shirt for the first time.
