New signing Joselu got off the mark for Real Madrid last night as he scored a stunning overhead kick in a friendly victory over Manchester United.
The Spaniard struck late in style as Los Blancos sealed an impressive 2-0 victory, and he savoured every second as he found the back of the net with his stunning strike in Houston.
Joselu returned to the club he departed 11 years ago this summer, as a backup striker option, but he has caught the eye in pre-season and his strike mesmerised both Real Madrid fans and his teammates.
He shared his delight on Instagram with the caption: “Happy to score the first goal of my tour and win. Let’s keep getting ready. Thanks for the support!”
His new teammates were quick to praise him, with Vinicius Junior, Dani Carvjal, and Rodrygo among those to comment.
“What a goal!!!” Carvajal replied.
“Wowwww,” Vinicius commented.
“OMG,” Rodrygo exclaimed.
What impact can Joselu have this season?
It is clear that the former Real Madrid youngster is delighted to be back at the club and as part of the first team, having scored two goals in just two appearances for the first team when he broke through a decade ago.
His teammates appear excited to have him in the squad, and if he can continue scoring goals of this quality, he could make himself a useful option for Carlo Ancelotti.

Joselu joined following the departures of strikers Karim Benzema and Mariano, and whilst he is not expected to be a regular starter, he can be a useful target man off the bench and for rotation, with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo currently expected to move to more central roles.
The 33-year-old had spells at Stoke City, Newcastle and Deportivo Alaves in recent years, and has unexpectedly earned a long-awaited opportunity in the Real Madrid first team. Although he may not be on the same level of quality as some of Real’s other attacking options, he will add experience to an otherwise young squad, and so far he has proven to be a good asset.
