Real Madrid are set to welcome Ferland Mendy and Dani Ceballos back from injury, but Arda Guler’s potential return date is still unknown.
That’s according to journalist Guillermo Rai, who has reported that training today went without any further injury issues, and that there are positive updates on two of the three current absentees.
Mendy is set to return in two weeks, with Ceballos to join a week after that. There is no update on Guler, who may be absent for a number of months depending on the course of action taken over his meniscus injury.
“The club believe that Ferland Mendy will be fit in two weeks and Dani Ceballos in just under three. Still waiting for Arda Güler,” Rai tweeted.
Real Madrid’s injury problems
With just five days to go until Real Madrid begin their La Liga campaign against Almeria, they will be happy that they can field a fully fit first team, but it has not been plain sailing in pre-season.
Ceballos picked up an injury just days after Real Madrid began their pre-season campaign, and after signing a new contract to keep him at the club, he will be frustrated that he lost out on the chance to prove himself as a valuable squad member.

There has been talk of an exit for Mendy this summer, and he will also be annoyed that he picked up an injury which prevented him from gaining fitness in pre-season.
Guler meanwhile, is yet to appear in a Real Madrid shirt after his highly anticipated arrival from Fenerbahce this summer, and he could be set to miss months in what is a huge blow for both the player, club and fans who were excited to see him in action.
Carlo Ancelotti will make do without these players for now, but he will hope they return soon as the season gets underway and the fixtures start to pile up.
