Real Madrid hero Kaka has picked out new signing Jude Bellingham as a player he is very excited to watch ahead of the new season.

The Englishman joined this summer for a huge fee from Borussia Dortmund, in what is another statement signing by Real Madrid given that Europe’s biggest clubs were all interested in the 20-year-old.

The midfielder has so far impressed in his limited minutes in Real Madrid’s friendly matches, and Kaka has now pointed to him as a player to watch.

Speaking to Real Madrid TV, in quotes via Mundo Deportivo, Kaka highlighted Bellingham’s physical strengths and claimed that the fans should be very excited to see him in competitive action.

“I love it. He is a very young player and has impressive qualities,” he stated.

“He is very modern and physically very strong. He is always very well-positioned on the field and gets very close to the goal. He will give the fans a lot of joy.”

Bellingham’s immediate importance

The unexpected departure of Karim Benzema may have inadvertently put extra pressure on Bellingham to hit the ground running this season.

Carlo Ancelotti will be relying on his current squad to increase their outputs, given that no first-choice striker has arrived to replace Benzema, and he is currently testing a new formation which will see wingers Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior move central and Bellingham play at the tip of a midfield diamond.

Kaka’s comments highlight Bellingham’s ability when close to the opposition goal, and this may hint that the club expect him to chip in with goals and assists.

Given that the England international scored 14 and assisted seven times last season, if he hits the ground running it seems likely that he could better that record when playing alongside the likes of Luka Modric and Vinicius.

Bellingham does have pressure to deliver, but so far he has displayed an impeccable attitude with regards to training, and he seems destined to become a fan favourite.
