Real Madrid have won their opening two La Liga games this season, and new signing Jude Bellingham has been the star of the show on both occasions.
The Englishman scored twice against Almeria to take his tally to three goals for the season, and has shown that he is already able to step up to the mantle as Real Madrid’s main goalscorer.
The departure of Karim Benzema, as well as the failed pursuit of Kylian Mbappe, have meant that there is no recognised centre-forward in the team. Wingers Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo have moved to the middle, with Bellingham at the tip of the midfield diamond.
Bellingham’s displays so far have shown that he can be decisive in the final third, and Los Blancos can relax over the Mbappe situation: they will be fine going forward this season.
Bellingham’s perfect start
Bellingham has helped Carlo Ancelotti’s side get off to the perfect start in La Liga, with two tough away trips navigated with ease.
Real Madrid legend Guti has praised the new formation, as well as Bellingham’s impact, calling it “perfect,” and the England international has adjusted to his new system and team instantly.

Bellingham’s decisiveness in the final third makes the system work, and it is now clear that despite being near enough complete in most aspects of his game, he has the ability to increase his output over the course of a season, and provide enough goals that a striker may not be missed.
Real Madrid can now let Bellingham develop as the main star signing of the summer, and do not need to push through a move for Mbappe.
Bellingham has enough quality to lead the attack for Madrid in this advanced midfield role, and as long as he continues to get into good scoring positions, he will continue to light up La Liga as he has done so far.
