Alvaro Odriozola is set to depart Real Madrid permanently this summer, following the exits of Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, Karim Benzema and Mariano.
The 27-year-old made just six appearances last season, and has embarked on loan spells at Bayern Munich and Fiorentina since his move from Real Sociedad in 2018.
The right-back played in 49 games for Los Blancos, and given that he arrived for £35m, will go down as a poor value signing.
According to COPE, as quoted by Madrid Xtra, he is now finally set to end his disastrous spell at the Santiago Bernabeu, as he enters the final year of his contract.
Where can Odriozola go?
The former Spain international could return to Real Sociedad, as they return to the Champions League for the first time since 2013, and a move back to Anoeta could help him revive his career.
Real meanwhile, are not lacking in depth at fullback, with Dani Carvajal, Nacho, Eder Militao and Lucas Vazquez capable of playing on the right, but a long-term option may be needed going forward.

One player they could look at is Ivan Fresneda of Real Valladolid, who has been linked with a number of top clubs, but it remains to be seen whether Real will target the position in this transfer window.
Odriozola was signed at a time when there was limited depth beyond Carvajal, and his impressive performances at Real Sociedad caught the attention of Florentino Perez. However, it is one of a number of moderately expensive signings that have not worked out at Real Madrid in recent years.
It seems unlikely that Real will receive a transfer fee for the defender, but getting his £120k-per-week salary off the books could provide a big boost for the wage bill.
Odriozola may have chosen to stay for one final year and fight for his place, but he may now be targeting a move to a club where he can play regularly.
