Real Madrid starlet Reinier Jesus is set to move to Serie A side Frosinone on loan until the end of the season.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has revealed that the 21-year-old has agreed a deal which will see him move for the season, with no buy option.
The Brazilian joined Real Madrid from Flamengo for £25.6m in 2020, but unlike Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, has failed to settle or play regularly at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Reinier has embarked on loan spells to Borussia Dortmund and Girona, but failed to make a significant impact at both, and this may well be his final chance to show Real Madrid his quality.
“Frosinone have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for Reinier, here we go! Loan deal valid until June 2024,” Romano tweeted.
“No buy option clause included, he’ll be back to Real in June.”
Last chance for Reinier?
Reinier has three years left on his Real Madrid contract, and the club will have a decision to make at the end of the season.
The signing of Arda Guler perhaps means there is no more room for him in the Real Madrid squad, but if he has a productive season on loan, he could be viewed as a potential squad option next season.

Another loan next year may not be viable given his contract length. Real Madrid will either have to keep him, extend his deal or sell him, and if he does not find consistent form at Frosinone, then a sale seems to be the most likely scenario.
Real Madrid’s successful Brazilian investments have seen Vinicius and Rodrygo become key players at the club, but not every deal is guaranteed to work out, and they may have to cut their losses on Reinier soon if he cannot develop well.
