Real Madrid sensation Eduardo Camavinga will not leave the club this summer despite attracting interest from the Premier League, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The midfielder, who has also played at left-back, is considered “untouchable” at the club, and is also set to sign a new contract to keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Camavinga’s performances have been sensational since his £34m move from Stade Rennais in 2021, but the strength of Real Madrid’s midfield options, coupled with the arrivals of Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler, raised speculation about his future at the club.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed that the club value him so highly that he is to be handed a new deal and all transfer interest is to be ignored.
“What I’m hearing is that he’s absolutely considered untouchable by Real Madrid, Camavinga will not leave this summer,” he stated.
“Camavinga is a key player for Real Madrid. We heard from Spain that the agreement on the new deal was done, it is not done yet. But it’s just a matter of time.”
What role can Camavinga play next season?
It remains to be seen whether Carlo Ancelotti will change his tactical setup to deviate away from the 4-3-3 shape he often employs, but Camavinga will likely have an increased role next season regardless of the formation.
If he continues in his advanced left-back role, he will compete with Fran Garcia for a starting spot, with Ferland Mendy linked with a move away, or if he moves back into midfield, Ancelotti could use his younger personnel next season.

Aurelien Tchouameni and Bellingham could start alongside Camavinga in a three-man midfield, and Luka Modric or even Guler could also join if switching to a diamond formation.
Real Madrid are aiming to bounce back from their disappointments in La Liga and the Champions League, and Camavinga could be crucial throughout the season in a variety of positions as they seek to compete on all fronts.
