Real Madrid were dealt a huge blow when new signing Arda Guler picked up a long-term injury before he had even made his debut.

The 18-year-old made a highly-anticipated transfer from Fenerbahce in the summer window, but was ruled out indefinitely in pre-season without even appearing once after a training injury.

The Turkey international arrived for around £17m, and has been compared to former Real Madrid hero Mesut Ozil for his playing style and immense technical ability.

There is no exact return date for the midfielder, but journalist Guillermo Rai has now revealed when the club are expecting him back.

“Güler is working but still has about a month to go,” he tweeted after Real Madrid’s training session yesterday.

When could Guler return?

If he returns to training in a month as anticipated, then it may not be too long a wait before he can make his debut for Los Blancos.

Carlo Ancelotti may wish to ease him in, and perhaps the club may wait until after the October international break to include him in the squad.

This could mean he makes his La Liga debut away at Sevilla on the weekend of October 22nd, or even in El Clasico against Barcelona in the final weekend of the month.

If the club do not wish to throw him into such tough games without match practice, then they may be better off waiting until one of the home ties against Rayo Vallecano or Valencia at the start of November.

There will be a lot of excitement when he returns and eventually starts playing for the club. Although the Real Madrid midfield is stacked with quality, he can provide strong depth for the likes of Jude Bellingham, and can add a lot of creativity to the side.
